The
Doorknob Extender Package of 2
includes two extension handles that easily convert a conventional doorknob into a lever handle. People with arthritis will find this adapted door handles require less pressure to turn the door knob.
The Doorknob Extender Package of 2 are easy to install using only a screwdriver, no special tools are required. The extenders fit over standard round doorknobs that measure 2-1/8 to 2-3/8 inches in diameter. The center opening allows complete access to keyholes. A slot in the handle allows a cord or string to be inserted for those with limited grip. The Doorknob Extender measures five inches long and helps to make opening doors easier for people with arthritis.

I order this item for a customer (the post office at Wister) after putting it on for them, they used to a few times but the handles did not stay on, and the foam that was suppose to grip the door knob came out. I checked back with them later and they told me they removed it. Covert Locksmith

Doorknob Extender
fyi, The doorknob extenders were as expected. I wanted a product that was discontinued. I will use the doorknob extenders but I am not happy with the material , size or the assembly of the product. G. Miller

Mr.
Too large for our liking. Thought 5" was total length. Photo showed whitish color. Actual color was more salmon/pink. Returned item without opening package.

Not quite, the Doorknob extenders fits round shaped doorknobs 2-1/8 to 2-3/8 inch diameter.

The doorknob is not altered in anyway, the Doorknob Extender is assembled together with provided screws.

Yes, they are sold as a package of two so one can go on the inside of the door and the other on the outside.

does this adapter fit all round doorknobs? Does weight of door make a difference?

Most doorknobs are a standard 2 inch diameter, however the Doorknob Extenders could take up to a 3 inch diameter. (Inner diameter of the face plate is 3 1/4 inches)

The front plate attaches to the back plate with 3 bolts. You basically pinch the doorknob in-between the two plates.

what does the " hole " side of the device look like , i.e. size , shape ?

A:
The back plate is a crescent shape piece with a 1 1/4 inch tapered cutout to slip over the shaft of the knob. It is approximately 3 1/4 inches in diameter. The hole is approximately 1 5/8 inch in diameter. It is also about 5/8 of an inch thick.

They are mostly plastic, but do use steel bolts and nuts to join the front and back adapters to clamp on the door knob. We do not typically release who our suppliers are.

The Doorknob Extenders are made of plastic so yes, they will get cold. However, they will probably not feel as cold as a metal knob.
