The LMB Wire-Foam Ulnar Deviation Splint is designed with a soft core that allows it to be shaped to support the palmar arch and conform to the hand. It supports the MP joints while aligning the proximal phalanges to prevent ulnar drift movement of the fingers due to rheumatoid arthritis. The adjustable finger tabs and a dorsal strap support MP joints in slight flexion and neutral alignment. Without the use of tools or heat, the splint can be easily shaped to conform to each individual's hand. This splint is suggested for light use only. In addition to its primary function of supporting the MP joints and aligning the proximal phalanges to address ulnar drift, it serves as an effective MP stop splint. Limiting motion at the MP joints encourages flexion at the PIP joints, promoting a more natural and functional hand position. The soft core foam is fragile and not designed for heavy hand work. The determine the size needed, measure the width of MP joints. Small size fits 2-1/4 to 2-3/4 inches, medium size fits 2-7/8 to 3-1/4 inches, large size fits 3-3/8 to 3-3/4 inches. If hand width falls between sizes, order the larger size.
