The Vertical Grip Professional Helper Knife is a rocker knife designed for use by individuals with arthritis who have difficulty holding or using a standard knife. By using downward pressure and minimal rocking motion, this adapted knife easily cuts through foods.

The Vertical Grip Professional Helper Knife features a weighted blade with a hollow ground 440 stainless steel edge. The knife was designed on a vertical axial to provide increased control when pushing down, thereby limiting slippage and increasing force. The tall, textured grip handle keeps hands and fingers suspended above the cutting area and the groove notch at the top provides a thumb index centering the hand above the blade for single hand use. In addition, the handle provides sufficient surface area for two hands to clasp the sides of the handle and generate cutting force. The knife includes a snap-on, snap-off Kydex sheath for transport and storage.

People with arthritis who have difficulty cutting foods will find this ergonomic knife is helpful for preventing hand pain.

vertical grip knife
I bought one each of the disability knives, and so far my disabled husband likes this one the best. Had a tough roast last night and the knife went right through. He had a stroke and only has use of one arm. Prior to this knife. he liked the Good Grips Rocker. Now his favorite is this knife.

You have to try this knife!
This knife is absolutely fabulous. It is freaky sharp, and cuts like a dream with an easy rocking motion. Cuts thin coins of carrots, celery, meats - you name it, it slices cleanly with one motion. The vertical position causes no pain to my arthritic joints in my hands and a healing broken wrist. I intend to order another and clean out my knife drawer.

Ms.
I love this knife. I cut through celery like it is butter without using much force at all. I haven't used it on carrots yet, but I'm sure it will work great. Thank you for making products to help people with limited use of their hands.
