Simply rest a 9-inch plate on the top of the platform. Rather than lifting their arm, users can simply pivot on their elbow to move food from the plate to their mouth. The decreased distance makes it easier for users to feed themselves. Users with low vision will find that the platform increases the visibility of the plate. Users who have difficulty eating independently due to arthritis, poor positioning, flexed posture, kyphotic posture, or other physical disabilities will find this adapted dining aid helpful for increasing dining independence.
