Q:I followed the instructions several times, but the channels will not change. It does on and off, volume up and down, but will not change channels. Does it work with "Cox" cable service?
Asked by: Mark C.

A: It is suppose to work with cable/satellite boxes. Try to program it again and if it does not work you may need to call your cable provider to see if they can offer any assistance with getting the signal through to the cable box.

Q:Is there any way to know what channel you are watching
Asked by: Ellie
- 8/17/2018
A: The Tek Pal Universal Remote does not have a display function. You would have to change the change up or down to know what channel you were on unless you use the original remote to turn the guide/display on.

Q:Remote button lights come on but none of buttons function. Change of batteries did not help. Any suggestions?
Asked by: Renda
- 7/20/2018
A: This means that you may not have it programmed correctly. One manufacturer can use multiple codes across their devices, but only one code will give you full functionality. You are probably off by just a code or two. Try re-programming.

Q:Used on a TV for my grandmother and worked GREAT! However, since she has passed, another family member wants the TV, how do I "UN-DO" the tek pal remote control's control on the TV so they can use a real remote, and I can keep the tek pal remote for the next elderly family member that might need it?
Asked by: gagal
- 12/31/2016
A: You do not have to un-do the Tek Pal with the TV. The original remote should still work. You will need to re-program the Tek Pal if you use it with another TV though.

Q:I have been trying to set up the remote with my tv. Only the off on and volume buttons work. Not channel or mute. I have reprogramed it multitude of times. Is this remote compatible with AOC tv?
Asked by: Isla Ruhma
- 6/4/2016
A: The default settings may have been changed. If you have a cable or satellite device, press and hold ON/OFF and CH- buttons together until the indicator light blinks three times. If you have TV only (no cable/satellite), press and hold ON/OFF and CH+ buttons together until the indicator light blinks three times.

A: You'll need to check who the manufacturer of the system is (ATT does not manufacturer their systems). Most TVs and cable/satellite boxes are supported now though.

Q:Y Dad has a tec pal remote and loves it. His cable supplier has now installed a digital box with a remote on his tv. How do we set up his tec pal remote now? HELP Dad is 97 and the simple remote was great!!!
Asked by: Heather Bruce
- 1/8/2016
A: I'm sorry, but the Tek Pal does not work if it is not a direct line cable. If it is simply a converter box it may still work. If you use the actual TV remote to change the channel, not a cable or satellite box remote, it should still work (unless your regular TV remote has also been programmed to change the cable/satellite box).

A: This remote is only intended to execute the most basic remote functions, change the channel, control volume, and turn off/on. You will need to use the original TV remote to program channels or use more advanced features.

Asked by: john fitzgerald

A: Although some capabilities will be lost, yes, it should still work. Please make sure you are using a direct line cable (cable doesn't go through a cable/satellite box then to the TV).

Q:Will this remote work with a Sansonic FT-300A ATSC converter box and Toshiba Model 20A22 TV?
Asked by: Jean
- 8/26/2015
A: The Tek Pal remote only works with direct line cable TVs. As long as you change the channel with the actual TV, not a separate cable/satellite/other, remote the Tek Pal will work. I believe the converter boxes simply convert digital TV signal to analog for older TVs. So yes, it should work.
