A safety tension hinge prevents the seat from inadvertently falling down while providing minimal resistance for users when lowering the seat. No locking mechanism is needed, making this bath shower seat much easier for users with arthritis to operate. After mounting, the back rest can easily be removed for cleaning the wall behind the seat
