The bed assist rail can be positioned in the closed and open position. The closed position with the rail parallel to the side of the bed, provides support for rolling side to side and positioning while in bed. The Smart-Rail System Bed Rail is constructed of 1.5 inch diameter strong tubular steel and is easily installed by inserting the support frame between the box spring and mattress. The support frame measures 32 inches wide, 21.25 inches long and has traction grips that prevent the rail from slipping while in use. The adjustable support rail adjusts in height from 27 to 36 inches high, and is 16.5 inches wide. Grey rubber cane tips prevent slipping and protect floor. The Smart Rail Grip measures 1.25 inch diameter and has a grey deluxe foam grip that does not contain latex.
