Questions and Answers
The Etac Fix Swedish Cutting Board is a multi-functional food preparation board that makes kitchen tasks easier and safer. People with arthritis will find the vise aids in gripping food to be peeled or sliced, or holding large mixing bowls securely in place.
The Etac Fix Swedish Cutting Board is designed to make many common culinary or household tasks easier for those with arthritis, limited hand strength or mobility, or who are otherwise dependent on one hand. Four large rubber suction feet keep the board firmly atop kitchen counters. This adapted cutting board with vise grip holds mixing bowls, graters, loaf of bread or jars securely for one handed opening. Stainless steel spikes hold vegetables and fruit for cutting or slicing using one hand. The spikes can be reversed to provide a smooth food preparation surface. The white polystyrene preparation board measures 12 inches by 11 inches and weighs approximately 3 pounds, and can be cleaned with simple dish soap and water. The Etac Fix Swedish Cutting Board provides users with arthritis and limited hand strength a helpful solution for food preparation.

independence restored
I love this cutting board for its design. I recently had a major operation on my left arm that keeps me from being able to use it or my hand for the next 6 months. I was very concerned about how I was going to be able to prepare my own food since I am vegetarian and did not eat food that was not prepared by me. This cutting board allows me to maintain enough of my independence to feed myself food I trust, which I believe is imperative to my healing process. I would recommend this to anyone that has difficulty with their hands or arms. I'm able to clean and operate it's functions with one hand alone. The only feature difficult for me to deal with are the suction cups that keep it in place (it's hard to separate from the counter with one hand but doable).

Cutting board
I've had 2 of these boards. Each one works great for a while until the plastic wears down and no longer works.

Great product
I wished I owned one earlier. It holds anything and everything steady. Brilliant Idea to make the spikes reversible so they are not a hazard when not in use. My only complaint which is actually a compliment to is when the board is in place it does not move. Makes it hard to clean underneath, always put something underneath to make cleanup a breeze. This should be the standard for cutting boards not a luxury/medical device

Great to design but
I have been using this Swedish cutting board for 20 years. You would think they would make some improvements. My biggest complaint is the lever on the vice breaks after a few years of use. Then you have to replace the whole board. They could improve the pegs for small items. I cut the tops off of sugar packets and the pegs don't hold well. Also jars that are 2 inches high are hard to open with this system. It's the best one out there by far and I use it for everything from opening mail to holding the end of a bracelet. Mostly in the kitchen it's very useful

Q:
How large a mixing bowl will the vice grip hold?
Asked by:
Ann
- 3/23/2017
A:
The vice opens to the entire width of the board. A 10 inch mixing bowl would probably be the largest to comfortably fit.
